Why do you think the author wrote this work?
The reason that I think that he wrote the book is that he wanted to tell the people what is really going on in our government today and military. On the front cover of the book it says the book the CIA does not want you to read so you know he wrote this to inform people on what is really going on in the middle east that is the reason that he wrote this book. It is also partially because he want to entertain as well by telling us story's of his time in the CIA.

Make a text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world connection to the book
A book that i can connect this to that i have read is lone survivor and i find these books to be similar in many ways. one way that they are similar is that they are both military themed most of the books that i read are military themed also they are both non-fiction. Most of the books are also non-fiction i Prefere to read non-fiction because it is cool to here about there storys and know that this really happened in real life unlike the hunger games. Books like these only have two options for a plot either something went horibbley wrong or they did something amazing that will be marked down in history. But jaw breaker is not really any of those though in the book is just about tracking bin laden but you do not need to read the book to know that he did not kill him because this book came out in like 99 and bin laden was killed in 2011 roughly.
A way i can can connect this book to the world is that since this is a nonfiction book this entire thing is a text to world connection. In this book they are talking about real problems in socity not our society but mostly one s in the middle est but you probualy could of guest that. In this book they are tracking down bin laden and the Al-queda those are real problem in our world or well use to be before we killed bin laden but the Al-queda is still a threat in our socity.

Reflection
1. A specific word that describes my writers voice is chatty. I think this way because in my post I through alot of imformation and my opinion out there in a imformal way. But the way that i do it still gets the point across a example from my sixth post shows that "That is what makes the vocabulary in this book difficult you have to study these
terms to know what they mean unless you are screwed that is what my dad
basically told me." As you can tell that is highly imformal but still gets the point across easily and affectively. This shows my personality as a writer because when I always have to do a writing assignment I break it down into a imformal/simplier way that shows how the question is alot easier than the way it is portrayed using bigger word. I also like to make it feel friendly when I write i do this because if it is friendlier writing style it is easier to read the piece because i do not want to bore the writer.
2. A example of diction that i use is imformal diction. I know this because i write the same way i would talk in person in a imformal way and the definition of imformal diction is "speaks naturally or in one's real life manner." a example that shows how i do write the same way i would talk in person is actually the same quote from paragraph 1 "That is what makes the vocabulary in this book difficult you have to study these terms to know what they mean unless you are screwed that is what my dad basically told me." if you have met me before you would that is how i talk in a friendly imformal way. A type of syntax i would use is sentence length in my post i use a longer sentence format. in longer sentence format you use rougly more than 13 words and that what i do it shows that i like to get my oppinion across and voice my oppinion more instead of writing shorter sentences. A example that shows me useing longer sentences is " The book has so many of them that in the beginning of the book it has its own dictionary that is several pages long and in some of the terms." this show that i use longer sentences because i want to voice my oppinion more if i was using shoter sentences.

Write a post about vocabulary you observe in the context of your book.
The vocabulary in my book that I am reading is pretty big but it is mostly stuff I do not know like military terms. The book has so many of them that in the beginning of the book it has its own dictionary that is several pages long and in some of the terms. They have terms like CENTCOM, ISID, SOFLAM and SIGNIT. That is what makes the vocabulary in this book difficult u have to study these terms to know what they mean unless you are screwed that is what my dad basically told me. Before you read this book you have to study that little section pretty well before hand I tried just going right into the book and I only got a few pages in until I actually had to go back and study it. An example from the book that shows how they use the vocabulary is " we have to be married to CENTCOM,"

The best thing about my book is… (could also be flipped to “The worst thing about my book is…”)
The best thing about my book is that it is about the military and that it is non-fiction. The reason that I like that is about the military is that I have always have been interested in the military so when I read stuff like this it makes me think that this could be me one day because I hope to go into the military when I am older and work operations like the one you see on the military channel or read in books. I like the book because it is non-fiction because it kind of plays into what I said before about thinking that stuff like this happens in real life and I could be apart of something that great and big.
What I dislike about the book is the secretive ness of not being able to fully understand what is going on. A example of this is "For the next hour I briefed Dobbins on everything starting with the -------------." as you can see that would get quite irritating to see that over and over again sometimes I have to go back and reread the section to fully grip what is going on during this certain section. I also do not like is that it is taking a while to get to the main point of the book or shall I say the climax because I keep herring about procedure for a mission but dpo not completely understand what the mission is what I do know is who the are going after and where the general area where this is taking place.
Write a post about predictions where you suggest future plot events and/or ask questions you have about what you have read so far.
Predictions on what I think is going to happen in my book is that Gary is going to set up a mission to try and pin point where bin laden is and catch him. I know this because this is a non-fiction book and on the cover it says " THE ATTACK ON BIN LADEN AND AL-QAEDA," Also so far in the book gary has to go back into the field to help the government on a mission to take down al-Qaeda I do not know the specifics because they are blacked out because they are still not for everyone to see.
Some questions that I have about the book so far is that what so massive is going to happen that possesses him to write the book in the first place because so far it just seems just like a another day in the life of a military officer. Either they are going to discover something big or sadly something went terrible wrong I think this way because of other books /movies have this scenario Black hawk down and lone survivor and as you probably know it did not go there way in those movies. Another question is what is so important that they can not show the audience. I think this because he had to of written this book a couple of years after the mission so you would think we have a write to know what really went down during this story. In this book hole pages are blacked out because we cannot know the information on it and we are left puzzled on what happened.

Explain why you chose the book you did. (Be specific).
I chose the book Jawbreaker because the book interests me . I have always enjoyed non-fiction books which is what jaw breaker is this book was written by Gary Berntsen. This book is about the attack on bin laden and al-Qaeda Gary Berntsen "was one of the cia,s most decorated officers, he comes out from under cover for the first time to describe his no-holds-barred pursuit of Osama bin laden and Al-Qaeda." What also interest me is that on the front cover it says " The Book the CIA Doesn't want you to read!" I could not agree more with that statement if you open the book you will notice a lot of the lines have been blacked out because the government got ahold of this book and censored the stuff that we could not know on some pages hole paragraphs are blacked out. That is also the worst part of the book the only thing is that it is really hard to follow what is going on, almost all the names are changed to hide there identities.
Another reason I like this book is that Gary Bernsten reminds me of montag from fahreinheit 451 both of them are trying to give knowledge to the people which the government does not think that they can handle or want to know. Evidence to support this is on almost every single page you notice that there is something blacked out. This evidence supports this claim because montages government burn books to keep secrets and in ours they black out the lines in the book so you have know idea what is going on. That is how montag and Gary Bertsen are similar which is why I like the book.

clarisse
I did my post on clarisse from fahrenheit 451. She is seventeen years old with blond hair but it is uasully long but I used a example of here with short hair. what made here diffrent from other people in here society is that she questions what is going on and thinks it is wrong that the firemen are burning books. clarisse does not like the firemen because the fire men are taking away the peoples power. Since books have knowledge and knowledge is power and they are buring the book that seggests that the firemen are taking away the peoples power to question things like how they running things.
Many people felt diffrently about here in the story most people did not like here considering she was out spoken and did not like to leave thing alone/question them. the most important thing that she said that describes her in part one in my opinion is " So many people are afraid of firemen, i mean you're just a man, after all." this shows that she is as i clearly said before a out spoken indivisual and will point out something that seems weriod or wrong to do to people like buring book. A important quote said about here was when montag first met here and she said something then he replied "thats against the law." This just show that other people can see that she is willing to do thing that others are not like read book even if it is illegal.
